There’s not a day that goes by right now that I don’t mutter, “Fucking COVID, man.”
This also appears to be true of the folks at Ale Asylum, who’ve concocted a new beer that echoes the sentiment. Revealed in a virtual tour on April 8 (National Beer Day, natch), “FVCK COVID” is a pilsner that co-founder Otto Dilba says is a pointed response to the novel coronavirus that’s upended daily life around the world.
Happy #NationalBeerDay, Asylum’ers! Here’s the feed from yesterday’s New Beer’s Eve Virtual Brewery Tour on Facebook…

Ale Asylum plans to donate portions of the profits to aid area hospital workers as well as people in the hospitality industry who are currently out of work, though specifics are still in the works.
“FVCK COVID” will distribute statewide by April 13. It will also be available for online ordering and curbside pickup at the brewing company’s north-side headquarters. That’s great to hear: Ale Asylum is near my apartment, and there’s only so much Animal Crossing a guy can play before cabin fever sets in.
