If you’re anything like me, just reading the name “Paul Ryan” leaves a putrid, scorched taste in your mouth. But the current Speaker of the House (or as I like to call him, “My Man Paul”) may not be long for Capitol Hill. My Man Paul has yet to decide if he’ll seek re-election in Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district, thanks in part to the strong challenge of a progressive, mustachioed Janesville ironworker named Randy Bryce, aka “IronStache.”
The event will provide a chance not just to drink beer and listen to Chelsea Handler be funny but also to learn more about who Bryce would be as a policymaker. Despite growing popularity on social media, thus far the IronStache has more or less coasted on the fact that he’s not My Man Paul (which is definitely a plus).
Tickets range from $25 for “limited entry” to $1,000 for “host”/“VIP” status.
Meanwhile, yesterday:
Update, Jan. 18, 2018: This event has been postponed due to a Chelsea Handler scheduling conflict.Today we remember a great man and his work. We read his sermons. We recall his sacrifices. We give back. In doing these things, we raise our gaze and renew the spirit in which we serve one another. Such is the calling of #MLKDay. pic.twitter.com/UpNNtZJ8n5
