May the 4th was decidedly not with Ha Long Bay, but September the 24th will be.
The beloved Thai and Vietnamese restaurant on Willy Street will reopen on Monday, according to a note on its website. It’s been closed since May 4, when a driver experiencing a medical emergency slammed his car into their dining room . No one was injured in the crash, which is amazing considering the damage to the building.

Ha Long Bay had hoped to reopen in June or July, but thanks to some good ol’ bureaucratic red tape — THANKS, OBAMA — the rebuilding took longer than owners originally intended.
One of Madison’s more popular restaurants, its return will likely be met with cheers from spicy food lovers everywhere. And we mean everywhere: Ha Long Bay appeared on the Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods America, hosted by chef Andrew Zimmern, in 2013. Perhaps Zimmern can take a break from ingesting weird shit to help them celebrate and actually eat something palatable.
