Sleep with one eye open and grip your pillow tight, Madison: Metallica is coming to town.
It was announced Monday morning that the heavy metal titans will be at the Kohl Center on Sept. 2. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 2 at 10 a.m. And on Oct. 16, they’ll also play the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sport Center, aka the Milwaukee Bucks’ new home which will have a more corporate but less awkward name by then.
Formed in 1981 by singer and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, Metallica is a band hardly in need of an introduction. The thrash metal pioneers have released 10 albums, winning nine Grammys in the process and spawning beloved singles like “Enter Sandman,” “Master of Puppets” and “One.” Thanks to their Guinness record-setting success, Metallica is without question the most iconic metal band ever. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
