If unexpected Facebook posts are to be believed, the incomparable Neil Young is coming to Madison next month.
Young announced on Wednesday night a string of solo shows throughout the Midwest, which includes a Jan. 24 stop at the Overture Center. The tour will also take the legendary rocker to the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee on Jan. 23, plus three dates in Minneapolis beginning Jan. 26.
A perennial contender for “America’s favorite Canadian,” Young is inarguably one of the most influential musicians of the past century. His pastoral lyrical touch can be heard in modern Americana, while his distortion-drenched guitar playing earned him the title “Godfather of Grunge.” However, with these being billed as solo shows, it’s more likely you’ll see Harvest Neil than Rust Never Sleeps Neil.
Tickets have yet to go on sale publicly but are available right now to yearly subscribers to the Neil Young Archives.
