Move over, “your kiss”: Seeing Hall and Oates live is at the top of my list now.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers — and Songwriters Hall of Famers; didn’t know that was a thing — will perform at Breese Stevens Field on August 25, it was announced this morning.
For half a century, the duo of Daryl Hall and John Oates have been making pitch-perfect pop music. They’ve sold millions of albums and scored monster hits with songs like “Rich Girl,” “Maneater” and “Out of Touch.” Hall’s malleable vocals served as a roadmap for a generation of artists, from avowed fans like John Mayer and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers to Gym Class Heroes, who actually went as far as to name a 2007 tour “Daryl Hall for President.”
G. Love & Special Sauce will open the Breese show. Tickets start at $59 (plus fees) and go on sale this Friday, April 5.
