They may call opposite coasts home, but Joywave and Sir Sly are certainly kindred spirits. The former hails from New York and plays an electro-dusted brand of indie pop. And if the name “Joywave” sounds familiar, it could be because of “Dangerous,” their chart-topping collaboration with electronic collective Big Data. The Angelenos of Sir Sly, meanwhile, bring to the table a darker take on the genre, using swirling psychedelics to create a trippy, uneasy atmosphere that still manages to be catchy as all hell. Their latest, Don’t You Worry, Honey, was released in 2017.
Joywave and Sir Sly co-headline a show at the Majestic Theatre on Thursday, Nov. 1. Enter below to win a pair of tickets.
